Mineral Insulated Metal Sheathed Thermocouple Assemblies
Mineral insulated thermocouples are extremely robust temperature sensors suitable for use in arduous conditions over the temperature range: -200°C to +1250°C. Sheaths can be generally be bent, twisted and flattened to suit applications without impairing performance.

  • Available in thermocouple types: K, T, J, N, E, R, S, B, C and D with
sheath diameters from 0.25mm to 12.7mm.

  • Wide choice of terminations available e.g. terminal head, connector,
    cable, temperature transmitter etc.

  • Wide choice of sheath materials e.g.. stainless steel, Inconel, Pyrosil
etc as well as more exotic materials such as Hastelloy, Platinum and
    Molybdenum

General Purpose Thermocouple Sensor

These thermocouple sensors are suitable for general purpose applications up to a temperature of 400°C. The sheath material on these temperature sensors is 316 stainless steel and they have a grounded junction for fast response to temperature changes.

  • Available in thermocouple types: K, T, J, N and E as simplex or
    duplex units.

  • Wide choice of terminations available e.g. terminal head, connector,
    cable, temperature transmitter etc.

  • Suitable for general purpose temperature measurements.

Heavy Duty Metal Sheathed Thermocouple

These heavy duty thermocouples are specifically designed for temperature sensing in arduous industrial environments such as blast or carburizing furnaces, kilns, large ovens and galvanising baths where their robust construction ensures a prolonged sensor life.

  • Available in thermocouple types: K, T, J, N, E, R, S, B, C and D.
  • Thick wall protective sheaths in stainless steel, Inconel 600, Incoloy
    800, Chromium Iron or Nicrobell.

  • Suitable for temperatures up to 1250°C.
  • Depending on sheath type selected, these thermocouples are
suitable for use in neutral, reducing or oxidising atmospheres and
those with high concentrations of sulphurous gases.

High Temperature Ceramic Sheathed Thermocouple

These thermocouple assemblies incorporate a ceramic sheath and are suited for high temperature measurements up to 1600°C or higher in applications such as in kilns, furnaces or flues and can be manufactured to any length required.

  • Available in thermocouple types: K, T, J, N, E, R, S, B, C and D as
    simplex or duplex units.

  • Primary and secondary ceramic protective sheaths are available in a range of diameters of; impervious aluminous porcelain, impervious
recrystallised alumina, impervious mullite and silicon carbide.

  • Suitable for temperatures up to 1600°C or higher.
  • Wide range of attachment fittings available.

General Purpose Platinum Resistance Thermometers

Platinum resistance thermometer sensors are suitable for general purpose applications and can also be manufactured for high accuracy applications. The sheath material on these temperature sensors is 316 stainless steel
